Do dogs follow the same sleep cycle as humans do? My dog sleeps more than me. How much should my dog sleep? Area of Concern The sleeping pattern of dogs is quite variable but we need to keep an eye on any drastic change in the pattern like sleeping time increasing/decreasing excessively. We can follow some habits so that our canine baby gets a sound sleep. - Sleeping place should be comfortable. - If dogs sleep with owners then the mattress should be of proper size to accommodate dog on bed. - The temperature should be conducive for the dog to have a peaceful sleep. - Dogs should get a good exercise during the day for them to have a sound sleep at night.
